Ceahlau Mountains

Ceahlau Mountains are located in Neamt County from Moldavia region, next to the 'Mountain Spring' lake, one of the bigest lakes in Romania.  In ancient times, Ceahlau mountains were considered by the dacians to be the home of their god, Zamolxis. Today, Ceahlau Mountain is considered to be the second holly mountain after Mount Athos in Greece.



Day 1
After meeting at the airport we take a 6 hour drive to 'Mountain Spring' Resort where we check-in at a guest house next to Ceahlau Mountains.



Day 2
After breakfast we take our backpacks and start the climb for „Dochia Hut” situated at 1750m altitude, in the vicinity of „Toaca” Peak ( 1900m ).
After checking in, we take a walk on the large crest.






Day 3
This day, the route is longer than the previous day, but the track is descending. After visiting the peak we continue walking towards „Panachia Cliff”, a great rock with a beautiful legend, and then back to the car.
After leaving Ceahlau Mountains we head towards Balvanyos resort situated at the border between Moldavia and Transylvania. The first stop is at the 'Red Lake', the biggest natural mountain lake in Romania, formed after a mountain collapsed on the course of the Red river, over almost 200 years ago. The way then continues through "Bicazului Gorges", a beautiful, tall canyon dug by the river Bicaz.
In the evening we will accommodate in a nice hotel, and taste a delicious, traditional, Hungarian dinner.









Day 4
After breakfast we will visit 'Saint Ana' Lake, a beaufiful, volcanic lake situated in the middle of the forest; after this, we head back to the airport.



Necessary equipment: daypack (20-30l), hiking shoes, breathable clothes, waterproof gear, gaiters, headlamp, sun glasses, etc.



This is a trip for a group of 2-8 tourists.

This is a medium difficulty trip in winter or an easy one the rest of the year.

The itinerary is flexible and could be changed due to bad weather conditions, fitness and other local conditions.

Apuseni Mountains

The Apuseni mountains are gentle, wooded mountains, with the appearance of fairy tale mountains, very spectacular with many gorges, sinkholes and caves. In the Padis Plateau there is the highest concentration of caves throughout Europe.
Also, in this area there is located Scarisoara Cave, home of the largest underground glacier in Europe. 

Day 1
After meeting at the airport follows a 6 hours transfer by car to the Padis Plateau.


Day 2
First day o the mountain begins with a 7 hours trip to the small, isolated, traditional mountain village "The Stone House"(Casa de Piatra). Along the way we visit the wild and spectacular caves "Vartop" and "Coiba Mare".


Day 3
This day starts by trekking the "Radesei Stronghold", a river-crossed cave, that opens before us after going through spectacular gorges. 
After this, we climb on the cliffs that watches over the river and the gorges from over 100 meters height. 



Day 4
The trip for this day lasts about 10 hours; we visit the incredibly beautiful "Galbenei Gorges", with tall waterfalls and extraordiary caves. Along this trail we find the cave of "Dolina 1" with the most spectacular entrance given by its greatness. 





Day 5
We will transfer by car to visit "Bears Cave" and "Scarisoara Cave". In  the evening we camp at Stana de Vale, one of the most beautiful mountain resorts in the area, surrounded by picturesque landscapes.



Day 6
We transfer by car to the medieval city of Sibiu (Hermannstadt) where we spend the night in a guest house. This day is dedicated to visiting Sibiu, the "European Cultural Capital" in 2007. 


Day 7
Transfer by car or by minibus from Sibiu to the airport.  


Necessary equipment: tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mattress, daypack (20-30l), hiking shoes, trekking sandals, breathable clothes, waterproof gear, gaiters, headlamp, sun glasses, etc.


This is a trip for a group of 2-8 tourists.

This is a trip dedicated for summer (tent, guest house accommodation) or autumn (guest house accommodation).
This a trip for tourists with a minimum of training, it has a medium grade of difficulty given by the long trails.

Big Stone Mountains

The Big Stone Mountains is a small mountain range in Brașov County, southeast of Brașov, Romania, and also close to the resort town of Predeal.
The highest peak, also called Big Stone(Piatra Mare), stands at 1844 meters.

Day 1
The track starts from the former Knoll Mill Cottage (670 m) and seeks Şipoaia Valley to the Seven Stairs Canyon, this includes walking on steel ladders and bridges in a very narrow and spectacular gorge.  







The trail continues through the forest to Big Stone Cottage (1.629 m), a small hospitable hut, very well maintained. 
 
Day 2
The second day we start from the cottage, about an hour to the peak of Piatra Mare. The top has a modest appearance, however surprising is the view that reveals.



 After visiting the peak we return to the hut. From here we leave for the Ice Cave. This is a narrow spectacular cave, which is famous because you can find ice inside throughout the entire year. Next, we go down to Knoll Mill Cottage.


In the afternoon we arrive in the medieval city of Brasov. We will visit the center of the city and the citadel. In the evening we’ll have dinner in a traditional Romanian restaurant, with delicious, famous local dishes.

Transfer by car to the airport.
